My second Swiss pike block, done!

Due to the current Armageddon type weather I have managed to get on with some painting instead of venturing outside. What I try to do is flit between projects and periods, I find this keeps my interest pretty high. I also try to slip in a command base or interest base to also keep me, well,  interested. Anyway, I have now completed my second Swiss regiment with bear. I know it seems daft to have two bears in my regiments, but they are just too nice not to be included.
I find that painting Perry figures is a doddle really, as they are so well designed. Granted the castings do need a bit clean up, but I especially enjoy the facial detail on their ranges.
The little interest base is an old plastic Warhammer chap that was too nice to discard.

My two Swiss regiments, with added Bear mascots. Flags as usual from Pete, of Pete's Flags.

  1. They look amazing.

As for Armageddon weather, I found some Armageddon Cheese in Tescos. The label said "best by end..."

    1. Thanks Phil,
I did enjoy painting the unit. Just the sub unit to do.

  3. They look great, and you reminded me that I've got that Warhammer figure somewhere and good to know he could be re purposed for the Italian wars, I particularly like the command stand, so are you finishing up or just biding time till you start on a Polish army?

  4. Iain,
I think I've accepted that I will never finish up. I am currently painting Spanish heavy cavalry, and have just bought a unit of Jinette's.I also have dug out a large unpainted block of Swiss.
As for me returning to the Polish army, I am still pondering, which is not good. By the way, that Warhammer figure is a beauty to paint.
